Extended Billabong Tour
(Shady Camp & Corroboree)
Our extend Billabong Safaris encompass Corroboree Billabong and Shady Camp. These are two of the Top End's most iconic fishing destinations that form part of the magnificent Mary River flood plain. Shady Camp is located approximately 150 km east of Darwin and from the boat ramp you will explore the 1,300 km2 of billabongs, wetlands and swamps that drain the lower reaches of the Mary River.
Packages include transfers from Darwin, all meals and nonalcoholic refreshments, accommodation, specialised charter boat, all fishing equipment and your expert fishing guide.
Our Billabong Safaris are a great dry season option when the temperature is a little cooler and the humidity has eased. During the dry season, landlocked billabongs provide a crèche for juvenile Barra to feed and grow before they return to the estuary. The billabongs also provide habitat for a wide variety of plant, animal and birds species, including sea eagles, crocodiles, water buffalo and wild pigs. The fishing is a bonus!!
