Jutting out from the Northern Territory’s north coast, this fishing mecca includes Gurig National Park, encompassing the Peninsula, and the surrounding waters in Marine Park. Top sports and fly fishing opportunities exist on the comfortable fleet of boats that access local estuary, island, reef and blue water fisheries all within 30 minutes of the lodge. Target species include Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Mackerel, Trevally, Shark and Golden Snapper with the record species taken in a week by one angler standing at 43. Other activities include mud crabbing, bush walks, meals on the un-spoilt white sandy beaches, local wildlife viewing and an opportunity to meet local Aboriginals who preside over the Cape Don area. The 5 bedroom lodge accommodates 12 guests and provides exclusive access to the spectacular coastline, with a friendly communal dining area, lounge, entertainment room and most importantly the famous corrugated iron spa to soak in with a cold beer as the sun goes down after a magnificent days fishing.
