For many dry fly fanatics around the globe London Lakes needs no introduction. Once home to the International Fly Fishing Championships, the Lakes have had a few years of restricted access and a change of ownership and management. Re-opening in 2006, and with the rest period, the fishing is quite simply incredible! – Mainly due to new fishery management and stocking, and also by the very strict access limitations set by the owners.

London Lakes is actually 2 separate lakes, Lake Big Jim - solely Brown Trout up to 8lbs, and Lake Samuel - the larger of the 2 and home to monster 10lb Rainbows and Browns, with an average size in 2005 of 5lbs. Both lakes are famous for dry fly fishing and the Mayfly hatches of December and March see literally 1000’s of feeding trout gulping down bugs when the conditions are right.
