Belize - El Pescador Click Here to Enquire About Tours to El Pescador Belize   View the El Pescador photo gallery:         A 15 minute flight from Belize International Airport lands you in the seaside port of San Pedro, the gateway to the Belizean Barrier Reef and Ambergis Caye. The tropic atmosphere hits you immediately as your guide picks you up in a golf cart and takes you 5 minutes down the road to meet a 25ft skiff moored in the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean. A short boat ride sees you on the dock of El Pescador Resort, a beautiful property hidden by palm trees and surrounded by the whitest sand imaginable. The Resort offers varying degrees of accommodation from lodge style twin share rooms, to 8 person self-contained Villa’s. A large pool and bar area are the centre piece of the property with indoor/outdoor dining options where Chap a world-class chef and his Kitchen staff serve a smorgous board of foods from traditional Belizean delights to continental cuisine. The fishing is only described with one word – INCREDIBLE! Bone Fish, Tarpon, Permit and Snook are the main target species, with a variety of other reef species caught on both spin and fly gear. The fishing operation is run by Bob, an American who has been fishing these waters for years. His team of local guides are all English speaking and native to the area – these guys know their stuff. There are over 250 square miles of flats available to the angler and El Pescador is the only fishing operation on Ambergis Caye, insuring an uncrowded, unfished and unspoilt fishing experience. A typical day could see you sight casting to tailing Bone Fish in ½ a foot of water in the morning, a 20lb mudding Permit on the sand flats in the middle of the day, and attempting to stop a 100lb Tarpon in the afternoon. The “grand slam” (Bone, Tarpon and Permit) in a day is very possible here due to the diversity of the fisheries on offer. El Pescador offers many activities for the non-fisherman and family orientated group. World-class scuba diving, Mayan Ruin tours, Jungle Kayaking, Cave Tubing, Bird watching and Jungle hikes just to name a few. For a more relaxing time in-room massage, local shopping and lazing around the pool with a book, rounds off the perfect Caribbean escape. Untamed Tracks will be booking El Pescador from January 2006. The Resort is open all year apart from the first 2 weeks in October, and the peak season is December through March.
